About S.T.A.R.
All people share one earth and the same 24 hours in a day. Human beings share all the same emotions: love, happiness, joy, sadness, heartaches, failures, and successes. So why do people feel that others who do not look like them deserve less than them?
The answer to this simple question is racism/colorism.
This ideology affects billions of humans all over the world. There are good, bad, and beautiful people within every race. The color of a person’s skin does not make them a good or bad person. Rather than judging someone by the color of their skin, get to know them and judge them on their character. If their character is good, you will see how insignificant skin color is. All Human Beings deserve equal rights, justice, and a fair and level playing field. There is so much to learn from getting to know people who look different than you.
Can you imagine what we as humans can gain by adopting the good and positive from other people and their culture!
Humans have been living on earth for millions of years, but we have never shared so much of each other’s lives as we do today. With access to the World Wide Web interaction with people all over the globe is easy, yet we discriminate against people of a darker complexion. Why do we accept this when we know this is not right? I have experienced racism/colorism my entire life and I can tell you it is an extremely negative experience. I often ask myself these questions
Why does the color of my skin play such an impactful role in my life?
Why do people who I do not even know choose to call me a derogatory name or just look at me from a distance?
Why am I treated as a threat or someone to fear rather than a friend and an ally?
We all Have One Life to Live and we all Share One Earth.
Let us come together and end RACISM!
Underneath every skin color, there is a human being who wants to be given a fair opportunity to succeed in life and experience happiness and freedom from racism. As humans, we can achieve the goal of ending racism. I ask you to find it in your being to accept that we are different but equal in our earthly journey. Life on earth is a short visit, let us all make this short visit a positive one. I dare you to get to know someone who is of a darker complexion than yourself and you will see another human being who is not a second or third-class world citizen.
